New Orleans once again is seeing high hotel occupancy rates with three big events taking place this week - the Zurich Classic golf tournament, the American Association of Orthodontists 2014 annual session and the first weekend of Jazz Fest.
Mark Romig with the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation tells 99.5 WRNO that hotels are running close to 100% occupancy Friday and Saturday nights, dipping to 95% on Sunday.
"We are in a very good situation in the City of New Orleans," Romig said.
"Good strong weekend for the city, it's good for the retailers and the restaurants and hotels and of course, for the 78,000 people that depend on the hospitality industry for their jobs."
The Zurich tees off on Thursday. The music and food start at the Fairgrounds Friday. The orthodontists convention begins on the 25th and runs through the 29th.
