The $6 million budget proposed for the Mayor's Office in 2014 by Mayor Landrieu was up for review Wednesday before the City Council.
The proposal includes an additional $100,000 for the Vera Institute for Justice Pre-Trial Services Program but only $8,000 for International Relations.
Councilwoman Latoya Cantrell questioned whether $8,000 is enough to take care of the city's growing international population.
An administration official said one thing they focus on in the Office of Neighborhood Engagement is language access.
"We work closely again with communications on making sure, for example, during storms we work to make sure that all of the NOLA Ready documents are translated, all of the online resources are translated into Spanish and Vietnamese," she said.
